Twentieth Century Dinosaurs!

If you or your kids are fascinated by dinosaurs make sure to stop by the Tallahassee Museum to see Jim Gary's Twentieth Century Dinosaurs exhibit. The dinos were brought to the museum in 1993, some have a span up to 43 feet and weigh up to 4,000 pounds
The dinosaurs are made of used automobile parts, they were made by Jim Gary who created many other pieces using metal parts before he passed away in 2006. The exhibit has been featured on the Today Show, The Discovery Channel, CNN, and publications of National Geographic World.

" When arranged in a large outdoor pre-historic trail at the Tallahassee Museum, the long-term exhibit will create a perfect model for blending history, creativity, art and recycling in a unique, educational and entertaining way, which is easily-accessible to Tallahassee residents and visitors."

Going Outdoors

Enjoy a lovely day outdoors before it becomes too cold to go out!

The Halloween Howl

There were monsters, witches, superheros and princesses to be seen everywhere you looked those nights at the museum, the days of the Halloween Howl
I was fortunate enough to be able to volunteer both nights that the event was held, there were many other volunteers and many other visitors. The museum was packed both nights and I was able to talk to many enthusiastic visitors about what their favorite part was, for many it was the spooky trail, which they also claimed to not be afraid of. Both nights I was a face painter and had costumers' whose ages ranged from 1 to 60. Although I am not an artist no one left very disappointed.
I had a really great time working with the other volunteers, numerous children and Natasha who was a coordinator for the event and made it an enjoyable experience. I hope I can volunteer at the museum again sometime in the future.
